Construction Field Operations Foreman

Oversee daily on-site construction activities, ensuring projects run efficiently, safely, and in alignment with Habitat’s mission. This role is a blend of coordination, leadership, and hands-on building, working alongside volunteers, family partners, and subcontractors to create modest, high-quality, affordable housing for our community.


Key Responsibilities:  


Construction Coordination & On-site Building 

• Manage on-site construction activities, ensuring projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards, including new construction and homeowner repairs. 

•Coordinate subcontractors and tradespeople, ensuring work aligns with plans and safety requirements.   

• Oversee materials procurement and site logistics, including tracking deliveries and maintaining inventory.   

• Job set up, schedule building, financial job cost tracking, submittals, review of estimates/bids 

• Monitor adherence to building codes, Habitat construction standards, and best practices.   


Volunteer Engagement & Training   

• Create a welcoming and productive environment for volunteers of all skill levels.   

• Provide hands-on training, instruction, and supervision to volunteers, construction Interns, and partner families.   

• Ensure volunteers have meaningful work that aligns with project goals and safety standards.   

• Foster a positive team environment that encourages learning and participation.   


Safety & Quality Assurance   

• Maintain a strong culture of safety, ensuring all workers and volunteers follow OSHA and Habitat safety guidelines.   

• Conducted site safety briefings and monitored compliance with protective measures each day when volunteers/partner families are onsite. 

• Identify and address potential hazards, ensuring a secure and productive worksite.   

• Perform quality control checks throughout construction to maintain durability and efficiency standards.  


Hands-On Building & Leadership    

• Volunteers/Family Partners actively participating in construction activities.   

• Troubleshoot on-site issues and problem-solve in real time to keep projects moving forward.   

• Act as a liaison between the construction committee and the project manager. 

• Engage respectfully with staff members from all Departments and the Board of Directors 


Qualifications & Skills:   

• 5+ years of residential construction experience, including framing, siding, and finish work.   

• Experience managing construction sites, subcontractors, and/or volunteer groups.   

• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.   

• Ability to train and mentor volunteers with varying skill levels.   

• Commitment to Habitat Clallam’s mission and values.   

• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and willingness to obtain safety certifications.   

• Experience in energy-efficient and high-performance building techniques. 

• Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction documents.   

• Computer skills for scheduling, documentation, and reporting.   

• Ability to lift 75 lbs., work in various weather conditions, and perform physical labor as needed. 

• First aid/CPR certification 


Compensation & Benefits:  

• Salary: Starting at $45,760 - $62,400 annually, DOE (previous Habitat Affiliate experience would be the top end of the pay range) 

• 75% of Health Care Premiums, after 60 days. (Employee pays 25% via payroll deduction).   

• 100% of Dental and Vision Premiums, after 60 days   

• Paid time off and 14 paid holidays. Accrued monthly and available after 90 days. 

• Company truck for work-related travel and accompanying gas card.

Hours: 

• 40 hours per week, with occasional work events outside of the normal business schedule 

• Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch 

• Position serves clients across Clallam County, predominantly in the Port Angeles and Sequim areas.

Construction Program Director
